Dani Schaufeli is a photographer based in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. He works across sport, culture and documentary, with branding and weddings alongside. It started four years ago in Bosnia, at the Srebrenica memorial run. Since then his work has taken him to Togo, Colombia, the Maluku Islands, Portugal and Morocco, and into the worlds of footballers like Mees Hilgers, Pedro Bondo and Dillon Hoogewerf, FC Twente, GLORY and NOS. His pictures are about the moment and what it felt like: close, honest and shot on location.
After four years of shooting under the name Shots by DS, it felt like time for a new step.
From now on I continue under my own name: Dani Schaufeli.
Shots by DS is where it all started for me, and I am still proud of that. But lately I noticed a growing need to make my work more personal, and above all to show more of myself in it.
So from now on, simply under my own name. On to a new chapter.
